I started Deserve a Break at Ecole Lacombe Junior High School my first year there as a way to recognize staff and continued it when I moved to Bluffton School.
Deserve a Break Award is presented at each staff meeting from one teacher to another. It generally goes to someone who has done something above and beyond and it comes with a Tim Horton’s gift card. The awarding teacher gives a little presentation about why the teacher deserves a break. The presentation is sometimes a speech or a little movie that they created about the teacher. I’ve found that this is a great way to build staff morale and start each staff meeting on a positive note.
